European antique miniatures

Introducing my new line of European antique miniatures---
First up, a chip-carved writing desk. I saw one from the 1700's and decided to create my own version.

Hand carved from cherry wood.

This piece is available on my website at

I love to carve as well, what tools do you suggest to carve in miniature?

    1. Thank you Lisa :) While I have lots of tools, even made my own tools, I always seem to grab my trusty x-acto with #11 blade!

  3. You forgot to mention and show us that there is also a pipe box and an inkstand in that new product line that would look great with this writing desk. I love the little pipes that come with the pipe box. Do put that pipe box on a blog posting of its own as it deserves it!

Here is a direct link for purchasing them.

  7. It is beautiful! And such a nice curious item with the opening lid, keeping some secret or something inside

  8. Wow! Thats a really neat little writing desk. Your chip carving skills are to be admired, and this is such a fun little object. I just love the geometrical designs you've created! Your feet warmer give-a-way was like that too; cute, adorably done and so easy to incorporate in any dollhouse interior. Is it made of pear?
