I bought a set of watercolor pencils and even though I did not use them with water for this drawing, I just wanted to see what they were all about. Next time I can use them in a whole different way. For this kitten I just wanted to draw with them as colored pencils.
This is the size. He is a thank you gift for a friend.

ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of artistic talent Linda. Your drawing is very good, he looks so sweet!
ReplyDeleteYour little baby tree looks great! Now I don't want to dampen your joy, but I was wondering about your lemon tree, how do you know it will bear fruit? I mean, if it is some sort of F1 hybrid (or something like that) are not their offspring supposed to be sterile?
Thank you Josje :)
ReplyDeleteAbout the tree, I have no idea if it will bear fruit, but I wanted to try and just getting the little guy to sprout is amazing enough! One year I started some tomatoes from seeds and they did nothing. Then in November, way past growing season, one little guy had a flower! So of course I couldn't let him die, so I dug him out, brought him in and he thrived! He lived inside 3 years and gave me tomatoes! Certainly wasn't being pollinated indoors. So magic can happen! I don't know anything about the lemon I bought, just happy the only seed in him sprouted :)
Wow! What a gorgeous drawing! So vivid and bright already! I have these kind of pencils here too, and the effects you can achieve with them if you go over them with a moist paintbrush are quite unique. Then a drawing becomes a painting. What you can do with them already makes me keen to see you work more with them!
ReplyDeleteAnd congratulations on your seedling! The promise it holds… exciting! Josje's remark makes good sense, but fingers crossed! :) Would love to see it grow as the weeks progress. Good luck with it!
